My little Annabelle is doing soooo good on her off leash walking!! I took her out today and she stayed outside with me for at least an hour with just her leash dragging behind!! When Jim opened the door and let her out, she came flying across the yard to me!! Very Happy I was even able to divert her attention back to me when something in the field caught her eye. I was even able to slow her down and she came back beside me walking around with just voice commands. We had tried to get her used to being off leash at the house when she wasn't as familiar with the new house. At that time, we started to call her "Puppy with a Purpose" because she would get this intent look and start plodding off in her own little world, ignoring my recalls. I think her wanting to be outside with me is starting to take over her desire to see what all the other smells and sounds are. We are going to be working on this a lot now, and hopefully by summer, she will be a "Free Range Nanner" when I'm outside with her!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy That would be so nice, especially when I have a ton of landscaping to do this year and really need her help digging the holes for the new plants!!! Thats awesome! You have so much land around you...going to be nice to be able to enjoy walks with you on the property!

Go Annabelle! Lord knows no fence is too high for that girl to escape out of so nice that her recall is good!

One more successful session this afternoon. She walked up from the mail box with a leash dragging behind with no issues. Her little nose kept trying to get her in trouble but she listened to Mom and stayed her course!! If this keeps up, I'm very hopeful of "Free Range Annabelle" in the very near future!! Very Happy Very Happy
